Like her parents, the founders of the Panciera Funeral Home, Valerie Panciera-Rieth has dedicated her professional life to helping adults, children, and families mourn and celebrate the lives of their loved ones. She is especially proud that the Panciera family tradition now includes her husband, funeral service manager Kevin S. Rieth.

Valerie, the author of the book When Someone Special Dies, has been instrumental in creating Panciera's innovative bereavement and after- care support programs and services. An award-winning teacher and adjunct professor at Miami Dade and Lynn Universities, she also is a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling and the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Alliance, among other groups.
